C80W1 Carbon Tool Steel
C80W1 round bar is a high-precision carbon spring steel with excellent metallurgical quality (high purity and uniformity), good surface quality (strict control of surface defects and decarburization), and precise shape and size. After heat treatment or cold drawing hardening, higher strength, hardness, elasticity and appropriate toughness and plasticity can be obtained. Under the same surface condition and complete hardening, the fatigue limit is no worse than that of alloy spring steel. However, compared with alloy spring steel, C80W1 steel has average hardenability. Smaller sizes can be oil quenched or water quenched. Larger sizes cannot be quenched in oil. Water quenching will cause deformation and a greater tendency to crack. Large-section parts are generally It is hardened by water quenching, oil cooling or normalizing treatment, so the steel is widely suitable for manufacturing smaller size springs.
